Senior Legal Case Manager

As a result of the pending conferral of a greater corporate criminal jurisdiction on the Court, a number of new positions have been created to support its implementation, including the Senior Legal Case Managers (SLCM). The SLCM will play a key role in providing high level legal and general support services to the Judicial Registrars and Jury Supervisor in relation to the administration of criminal matters filed and heard in the Court.

In addition, the SLCM may also provide high level legal support and general support services to Judicial Registrars undertaking work in other NPAs, as required.

Demonstrated experience and ability in providing high level legal and general support services to a legal practitioner. A legal qualification or being in the concluding stages of completing a legal qualification is required. *

Demonstrated knowledge of the Federal Court’s jurisdiction, practices and procedures, in particular the criminal jurisdiction, or the ability to acquire such knowledge quickly and the ability to interpret and apply legal principles, rules and regulations. *

Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, including the ability to work under pressure with limited direction. *

Strong research and report-writing skills. Demonstrated ability to prepare reports, briefing materials and well-drafted correspondence.*

Strong interpersonal skills, with proven ability to deal with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders effectively and build and maintain positive professional relationships. Be able to exercise tact and discretion and maintain confidentiality.*

Demonstrated proficiency with technology, including the use of electronic legal resources and the ability to learn and use the court’s case management systems and court room technology.*
